Richard “Dick” Hansen, 86, was born in Tilden, Nebraska, to Otto and Pearl (Radke) Hansen. The student athlete played baseball for and graduated from UCLA in 1953 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
political science, and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He then served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force’s Air Intelligence Service Squadron.
Dick then began a long career of helping people via the insurance industry and joined Aetna Life & Casualty in Tacoma, Wash., which led him to move to Oahu to manage the company’s Honolulu office.
