DOROTHY MASAKO NAKATSUJI 85, of Honolulu, former Chairperson of the Board of HMSA and Deacon in the Episcopal Church, passed away on January 9, 2018. She was born to Nobuo and Ida Kamigaki in Peru, Wyoming. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Utah. She worked as a psychiatric nurse in Utah, as an Instructor in Nursing at the University of Hawaii, as Program Director of Hospice Hawaii, as Director of the Diaconate Training Program for the Episcopal Diocese of Hawaii, as an ordained Deacon at St. Clement’s Parish, as Director of St. Clement’s School, and as a Member of the HMSA Board of Directors. She is survived by her sons Ross and Robert Nakatsuji (Stacia Silva), grandchildren Maxwell and Elise Nakatsuji, sister-in-law Mary Kamigaki, niece Pamela Hanifen (David Hanifen), and sister-in-law Laura Sato (Larry Sato). Her husband, Ronald Nakatsuji, predeceased her last February. Services will be held at St. Clement’s Church on Sunday, February 11, 2018; visitation at 2:00 pm, service at 3:00 pm, and reception to follow.
