He was retired from the City & County of Honolulu with the Department of Facility Maintenance Road Division. He is survived by his wife, Edwina; sons, Derrick C.M. (Shandell) Higa, Jr., and Dylan K.M. Higa; hanai son, Donovan (Claire) Calhau; daughter, Davelyn A.L. (Tim) Farm; brother, Masao "Butchie" (Sharon) Higa; sisters, Doreen (Larry) Calhau and Lesley (Sanele) Pua; 5 grandchildren; Ashley, Noah, Ikaika, Mana and Dazey; 1 great grandchild, Peyton.
