MIRIAM WHARTON CHUN Age 97, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2017 at the Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 7, 1920 in Waialua, Oahu to Lucy and Edward Wharton and was the last survivor of eight siblings. A retired travel agent with United Travel Agency, she was active with the Travel Women of Hawaii, The Church of the Holy Nativity, and a lifelong member and past president of the Chinese Women’s Club. Miriam is survived by children, Gordon C. F. (Rena), Geraldyne Coombs, Gaynielle (Vernon) Hirata, and Ganette (Keith) Copeland and by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gordon S. C. and Richard S. Y., and son, Garret C. H. (Betty Lou McKee). A private service was held on December 2, 2017.
