RAYMOND CASPILLO November 8, 1939 – November 11, 2017 Ray Caspillo, 78, of Honolulu passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on November 11, 2017, at St. Francis Hospice Nuuanu. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Ray grew up in Kapaa Kauai, and graduated Kapaa High School in 1958 best known for his "hook shots" as the Captain of the Varsity basketball team. When around friends and family he was known as "PAPA, HONEY, UNCLE RAY, and the SILVER FOX for his beautiful hair." Ray was a stoic yet silent man whose presence was felt in a room, but when he did speak he was sure to make you laugh even through his silly jokes. His passions in life were caring for his roosters, maintaining and restoring cars, and his green thumb favoring hybrid orchids and anthuriums. Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Hosino; Children Daphne (Dennis) Turner; Carrae’; Joslyne (Chanell); Devin (Rema); Jon Paul (Kira) Keb. Sisters; Florence (Frank) Quenones, Janet (Tino) Bruno, Albert (Junita) Caspillo, Felisa (Joe) Engbino, Priscilla (William) Phal. Ray is predeceased by parents; Elisia and Dominado Caspillo; Brothers; William and Fredrick Caspillo. His children and his grand- children are the lights of his legacy; they will live on in his beautiful spirit! HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED!!! Services: December 9, 2017 at Our Lady of the Mount Church, Monte Street. Visitation: 9:30 am, Mass: 11:00 am, Lunch to follow. Burial 3:30 pm at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
