GEORGE YEICHI KIKUYAMA George Yeichi Kikuyama, 100, of Kihei, passed away on October 1, 2017 at his residence under the care of his loving family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Nakamura Mortuary from 10:00am to 10:30am, with service to begin at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Maui Memorial Park at 1:00pm. Nakamura Mortuary assisted with arrangements. Born in Pi’inoa, Hilo, Island of Hawaii on February 1, 1917, to Jiro and Ushi Kikuyama, in his youth he lived in Wainee Camp in Lahaina, Maui. Later he worked for HC&S as a heavy equipment operator and moved to Kihei with his beloved wife in 1950 where he farmed and eventually developed a mango orchard. In the late 80’s he opened the Kihei Gas, Kar Wash and Kwik Stop. In his retirement, he enjoyed visiting Las Vegas and playing his slots. Mr. Kikuyama is predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Hazel (Ajimine) Kikuyama and is survived by his children, Charlene Kikuyama (Skipper), Albert Kikuyama, Dennis Kikuyama; grandchildren, Maile (Kikuyama) Uohara, Tina Kikuyama; great grandchildren, Emiko Hatsue Uohara, Kiyoshi George Uohara; brother, Bert Kikuyama and many, many nieces and nephews.
