BASIL KANOELEHUA WAH YET CHANG 79, of Kailua, Oahu, passed away on August 19, 2017, after a short illness. Basil was born in Honolulu, and educated in California where he met wife Katherine (Manu) Ching. He worked at Lockheed Martin as a missile tracker, and for the Honolulu Fire Department as a radio shop technician, where he would eventually retire from after 30 years. He loved to tinker with electronic gadgets and computers, and had a passion for music, movies, photography, and anything to do with his children and grandchildren. Basil is survived by wife Katherine, children: Brad (Lee), Mona Takeda (Andy), Lisa Wong (Wayne), and grandchildren: Laura, Hiilani, Bailey, Keahi, Kekai, and Mahina. Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Cathedral on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 11:00 am, in his honor. No flowers please.
