IRENE MITSUKO OKI 93-year-old Liliha nursing home- resident passed away on August 18, 2017 with her son and other family members bedside. She was Honolulu-born on March 10, 1924 to Masataro and Asano (Kawasaki) Nakashima, and graduated from Kahuku High School in 1942 where she was the Yearbook Editor. She met Fred Hiro Oki, a veteran, in 1945 and were married in 1946. She worked for over 40 years full-time and an additional 20 years part-time as a bookkeeper. She was the eldest of 11 children, and is survived by her son Lloyd (Annette), grandson Bryan (fiancé Caitlin), four brothers Brian (Sue), Charles (Thelma), Edwin (Janice), and Walter (Gloria) Nakashima, two sisters Ruby Matsumoto and June Ooka, and many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Her funeral service will be held at Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Saturday, 9th Sept., at 1:00pm. Her inurnment will occur on Monday, 11th Sept. at 1:00pm at Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific.
