CONRAD LOUIS CANHA Father and Founder of the Hot Dog Style of Surfing passed away smiling on July 21, 2017 at his home in Punalu’u. Born on March 1, 1932 in Pu’unene, Maui, he was a "Waikiki Beach Boy" and learned the Hawaiian Sport of Kings: Surfing and Canoeing. A member of the Waikiki Surf Club, he won the Makaha International Surfing Championship and World Surfing Competition in Peru. He recently published his book, "The Last of the Golden Years in Surfing." Survived by his wife, Francine Park (Palama) Canha and pets, Nalu and Nani. Services will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at his home, 53-205 Kamehameha Hwy. Visitation from 11:00 am with services at 2 pm. Casual attire.
