CAROL ANN HOLT Carol Ann Hunnicutt Holt (85) of Manoa Valley passed away peacefully on July 28, 2017 while visiting her daughter’s home in Laguna Niguel, California, only 40 miles from Whittier, California where she was born on May 4, 1932. Carol was the second of Raymond and Carolyn Hunnicutt’s three children. She met Lemon Wond "Russ" Holt, Jr. (1929-2013) of Honolulu while he was attending Whittier College. On August 31, 1951, they were married in the East Whittier Friends Church. Three years later, in 1954, they moved back to Hawaii permanently. Her life was devoted to her family. She worked for 22 years as a partner in the LW Holt Bakery. Carol enjoyed journalism classes in high school and college and was a talented writer. She leaves behind a library of stories and poems about her family’s lives, roots and traditions. She will be most remembered as the loving, optimistic mother of 9 children and 7 children-in-law, 28 grand- and 7 great-grand- children. Children are Karen Holt (Ted Takamiya), Ann Wiltbank (Milo), Susan Holt, Jeanne Brady (James), Paul Holt, Steven Holt (Deanna), Charles Holt (Carole), Mary Holt-Gosselin (Dan), and Alice Taum (Mark). Grandchildren are John (Patti), Chaz (Juanita), Lisa, Tim (Veronica), Colby (Brittni), Paul, Heidi (Brian), Kathleen (Kolten), Anna, Christian (Courtney), Amie, Cory, Harley (Nikki), Emily, Sarah, Cheyne, Matt, Alida, Bailey, Anuhea, Leila, Rachael, Julia, Catherine, Christina, Alisha, Christopher, and Joshua. Great-grandchildren are Jayda, Kloie, Marlie, Milo, Caleb, Annabelle, and Kohaku. She is survived by her sister Phyllis Woods and her brother Raymond Hunnicutt (Monica), both of California. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept 2, 2017 from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a reception. Casual or Aloha attire.
