TAKIE SUGIYAMA LEBRA 87, died in Honolulu on May 26, 2017. She was born in Japan. After earning her PhD from Univ. of Pittsburgh, she taught anthropology at Univ. of Hawaii for 25 years and wrote 7 books about Japanese culture, selling over 66,000 copies.
