ROBERT Y. "BOB" ASATO Age 80, of Mililani passed away June 29, 2017. Born June 22, 1937 in Pepeekeo. Survived by wife June Miyasaki Asato, daughter Susan and son-in-law Ryan Takakawa of Aliso Viejo, CA, son Kevin of Mililani, brothers Thomas of Torrance, CA, John of Torrance, CA, George of Garden Grove, CA, Frank of Lakewood, CO, Wallace of Waipahu, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by parents Yeihan & Tsuruko Asato. Graduated from McKinley High School and attended the University of Hawaii and Loyola University in Chicago. He was General Manager of a dental supply & consulting company in Honolulu, Executive Director of Hawaii Okinawa Center in Waipahu, and Hawaii State Director of the 2000 Census. One of the founders and the first president of Mililani Hongwanji which is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2017; also active with the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii. Member of Kitanakagusuku Sonjinkai and Aloha-Ohana Parliamentary Unit and the Hawaii State Association of Parliamentarians. Visitation 9:30am, Memorial Service 11:00am, Sunday, August 6 at the Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Casual/Aloha Attire. No flowers.
