Oct 25(12.) FUSAKO EILEEN CHINEN Fusako Eileen Chinen was born on March 18, 1929 in Lahaina, Maui. She was lovingly cared for by family through her illness, until she passed peacefully in her long-time home at the age of 91. Gracious and hospitable, she served God by ministering to family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike. Every customer who entered her restaurant, the New Kukui Café was treated as family. Oct 25(13.) LESTER JAY NAKANISHI Born on October 2, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii, Jay went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2020. He passed away peacefully at home in Kaneohe and was reunited with his Dad, Sadao "Sparky" Nakanishi and his brother Michael. Jay was proud to be a '74 Farrington Grad and was a carpenter at S & M Sakamoto Construction for 48 years. He could seem grumpy, but he had a kind heart and helped others whenever asked. She worked as a timekeeper at the Doke Cannery and later as an assistant librarian at Kamehameha Schools. She was a member of the Pentecostal Faith Assembly Church. Oct 25(15.) FRANCIS T. SANTOS Francis T. Santos, surrounded by family, went to Heaven on the morning of October 10, 2020. He was 86. Francis began his career as a Machinist for the Honolulu Iron Works in 1956 where he was later promoted to Chief Estimator. In 1968, he was offered a position at Carter Company, Inc., where he took their manufactured tropical fruit processing line of machinery around the world. His love and expertise of machinery and heavy industry kept him at the helm as an owner and President of C&F Machinery Corporation and its subsidiary Honomach, Inc. until his passing. (...) A Registered Nurse by profession, Rose received her BSN from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, and worked in hospitals in Philadelphia, Chicago, New Jersey, New York, Guam, and lastly St. Francis Hospital in Liliha, where she retired in 2007. After her retirement, Rose enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving and caring person.
