RICHARD DOBBEL WURDEMAN

81, of Mililani, Hawaii, peacefully passed away on May 24, 2019 in Nu’uanu surrounded by his family. He was born in San Francisco, California on August 28, 1937 and was raised in Waikiki. He graduated from high school in 1955 from what was then known as St. Louis College. He went on to receive his B.A. in Economics from Stanford University, his J.D. from the University of San Francisco, and his LL.M from the University of Washington. He worked for the City and County of Honolulu as the First Deputy Prosecutor and then as the City’s Corporation Counsel, for the County of Hawai’i as the Corporation Counsel, and as an Administrative Law Judge for the U.S. Social Security Administration.
A Vietnam Veteran, he later worked in the Judge
Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps at CINCPAC, and retired as a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve. A prolific reader and an avid gardener.
He is survived by his wife Ginger, son Richard Naiwieha (Tehane), and daughter Kathy (Paul).

Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, June 18th at
Blessed Sacrament Church, Pauoa. Burial to follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.
